Former Celtic left back Kieran Tierney has not had the best of times recently at Arsenal. Last season he played second fiddle to Oleksandr Zinchenko and now it looks as if he’s completely out of the picture after failing to feature in Mikel Artetas squad for the season opener against Nottingham Forest.

Even in last weeks charity shield win over Manchester City he started on the bench as Arteta favoured new signing Jurrien Timber who is a centre back in the left back berth.

Arteta clearly doesn’t fancy the Scotland defender, which is a real shame as KT is a class act. Tierney still shows his class when playing for the national side, so it’s a surprise that the Spaniard doesn’t rate him.

I personally feel he’s a better player than Zinchenko, and should feel aggrieved to have been sidelined for so long. Maybe it’s a personal thing between the two? Sometimes managers and players just don’t see eye to eye, which could be the case here.

Does KT regret leaving Celtic? Absolutely not. He got to play for a big club in a top league, even winning an FA cup. He’s also on a reputed £110k a week, so I think he’s fine!

KT has been rumoured for a return to Celtic Park albeit on loan since the return of Brendan Rodgers. Real Sociedad have also been rumoured to be interested in a loan move but it appears that Arsenal are looking at a sale rather than agree to a loan.

I would love to see KT back at the club but sadly can’t see that happening, but one thing is for sure he’s too talented to be wasting away on the sidelines at  Arsenal. He will undoubtedly get a move to a decent club and hopefully soon.
