When things aren’t going great, it’s sometimes better to escape to the past and look at the history of the club. The best early players, who started off playing the “Celtic Way” with their flair, the incredible matches in 1888/89 such as beating (soon to be champions) Dumbarton in the cup at fortress Boghead, and the committee of men who came together to make a unique football club for the most altruistic of reasons.

Celtic has a phenomenal history and remains an incredible club because of those humble beginnings. From the outset we had a cause, a culture and an identity – on and off the field. It didn’t happen by magic. It happened thanks to Walfrid & The Bould Bhoys.

What a great opportunity to escape the anxiety of current form in such an important season. Escape to another important season, for very different reasons, safe in the knowledge that Celtic prevailed and defied the odds.
