Why a few Celtic changes likely for Saturday’s match against Dundee

Could we see a few changes afoot for the visit of Dundee on Saturday? Not major changes, but a few ones to keep us fresh for the upcoming Champions League opener in Rotterdam against Feyenoord on Tuesday night?

I think Brendan might be that way of thinking with a few players being away on International duty straight after a tough shift at Ibrox a fortnight ago.

Alistair Johnston is just coming back to full fitness and was taken off at Ibrox just after the hour mark, could Tony Ralston step in to keep the Canadian fresh for Tuesday? It would makes sense would it not?

In the middle of the park could see maybe our skipper given a rest after his international escapades against Cyprus and England? It’s more likely he’ll start but maybe only play an hour. Saturday could be a good chance for Paulo Bernardo to make his debut or maybe a chance for Odin Thiago Holm to shine after impressing coming off the bench at Ibrox. Or maybe Reo Hatate, fit again after his muscle injury at Pittodrie, will get a start or maybe come on at the interval?

Up top will see changes with the news that Liel Abada is out for a lengthy spell. Maybe new boy Luis Palma will get a start, or Yang or maybe both will be involved?

A change that is possible in my opinion could be the centre forward position. This could be a good chance to rest our talisman Kyogo. He was also away on international duty with Japan and a rest would do him good to be fresh for Feyenoord. Oh is fit again and could get the nod with Kyogo kept in reserve.

Or maybe a start for Daizen Maeda through the middle? Brendan seems to like him there and he did well  playing as a striker during pre-season. What better time to try him out there on Saturday?

It’s all of course just my opinion and it’s of course Brendan’s one that counts. But I think we will see a few changes on Saturday with Tuesday night vital Champions League opener in mind.
