Six years ago today Brendan Rodgers’ Celtic hit The Rangers for five to clinch the Scottish Premiership title, but it’s a scoreline that still rankles with many Celtic supporters who wanted to pile on even more agony in the last half hour…

Six years ago today we clinched the title at Paradise in some style by thumping theRangers 5-0. Any game when you secure the title is sweet, but even more so when it’s against your Glasgow rivals.

We were unbelievable that day. 3-0 up at the break through an Odsonne Eduard double and a James Forrest strike and the title was in the bag. Even after the restart we continued in the same form. Tom Rogic made it 4-0, then moments later Callum McGregor made it 5-0 with only 53 minutes on the clock.

Paradise was rocking and even the most optimistic of theRangers supporters were heading for the exits. The Celtic supporters were in euphoria and with 40 minutes still remaining we were all dreaming of a record Derby score against any of the two clubs to have played out of Ibrox.

But despite a few half chances we toyed with the Ibrox side and played out the remainder of the game and the scoreline remained the same.

We celebrated yet another title and it was a fantastic, memorable afternoon. However it still to this day rankles that we didn’t pile on the agony even further by adding a few more goals.

It was all there for us, Celtic were heading for a record score, and suddenly and frustratingly we took the foot off the gas. Why oh why?

Just an Ordinary Bhoy
