Yang spoke to Celtic striker Oh Hyeon-gyu before heading for Paradise

As we patiently await official confirmation from the club for the signing of Yang Hyun-jun and Kwon Hyeok-kyu, our new winger Yang has revealed how he sought the advice of current Hoops star, Oh Hyeon-gyu before leaving Gangwon FC in his homeland.

Oh of course, is a fellow South Korean national just like Yang and the man who is currently awaiting international clearance and a work permit before joining his new teammates has revealed how he phoned up the Bhoys attacker to have a word in his ear about Paradise.

Speaking to South Korean publication, Best Eleven in his homeland, via Daily Mail, he said: “I called two days ago. He (Oh) is also in contact on a regular basis. During the phone call, I asked what life was like. First of all, he told me that I should never be ignored. He said that my team-mates would recognise me if I came out strong.”

Should all go well and according to plan, both Yang Hyun-jun and Kwon Hyeok-kyu now should link up with their new boss Brendan Rodgers in Japan. The club are currently on a pre-season tour of the Asian country after completing a week’s training in the Portuguese Algarve. They play Yokohama F. Marinos tomorrow at the Nissan Stadium before facing off against Gamba Osaka a few days later.

I'm a Garngad Bhoy through and through. My first ever Celtic game was a friendly against Italian side Parma at Celtic Park, in 2002. Currently a student of English Literature and Education at the University of Strathclyde for my sins. Favourite game would be a toss up between beating Manchester United with that Naka freekick, or the game against the Oldco when Hesselink scored in the dying seconds. I'm still convinced Cal Mac is wasted playing that far back.
