Callum McGregor has commended the new recruits at Celtic following their appearances for the Bhoys at Pittodire.
With the transfer window still in full swing, Brendan Rodgers has brought in new players to build the Celtic squad. Although there will likely be a few more before the window shuts at the beginning of September, the new recruits have already made their mark by gaining the approval of the Celtic captain.
Speaking to STV, CalMac dubbed Nawrocki’s performance as ‘outstanding’ as well as complimenting the others who came on in the later stages of the game. McGregor clearly understands the pressure that comes with wearing a Celtic jersey, with players always trying to beat you and only 25 minutes to show everyone what they can do, but he reckons that the new players, including Odin Thiago Holm, Yang Hyun-Jun’s appearances at Pittodrie stood up to that challenge. He said…
“I thought Rocky was outstanding in the game and the other boys coming on were fantastic as well,”
“They are coming on with 25 minutes to go and they have to be part of the team and part of the group. They have to show their personalities, their mentalities and I thought it was excellent from the three of them.”
“Being a Celtic player, everyone is trying to beat you, so you have to have that siege mentality. So to see that two games into the season is outstanding, but that’s something that will progress and get better during the season.”
