Kerr McInroy will play Premiership football next season after newly-promoted Killie announced the signing of the midfielder following his release from Celtic. It has been a rollercoaster few years for the player with stint in League One, The Championship and now The Premiership.

McInroy made 13 appearances for Airdrie in the first part of the season, scoring four times before returning to Celtic. Airdrie had been keen on retaining him but a Championship option transpired and a move to Ayr was sealed. Now, he has crossed the Ayrshire rubicon swapping the Black and White of Ayr to the Blue and White of Killie.

The 21-year-old, who plays as a defensive midfielder, central defender and left-back, having showcased his talents in the SPFL League One. Having made 22 appearances for Dunfermline last season, Airdrie signed the player for the first half of the season and had hoped to sign McInroy again but he returned to Celtic to assess his options.

The player had conceded that he didn’t think he would make it at Celtic, loans have transpired with a few clubs
