JOZO SIMUNOVIC is still without a club and these Celtic supporters want the big defender to return to Celtic on a reduced wage or pay-as-you-play basis. Due to COVID-19, seemingly fit players can be forced to spend 14 days in isolation if contracting the virus so defensive recruitment could be an option.

The Croatian defender joined from Dinamo Zagreb in 2015 following Virgil Van Dijk’s departure for Southampton. The 26-year-old signed a contract extension back in 2017 for four-years and it was expected that the club would exercise the option of the fourth year after his impressive domestic displays; however, Celtic opted to let the player go to make space in the squad for the arrival of Shane Duffy.

Simunovic will be hoping to earn a pay-as-you-play deal with a team in the coming weeks as he attempts to return to playing football. With Stephen Welsh likely to play in the place of Hatem Abd Elhamed, Nir Bitton and Christopher Jullien – the Israeli pair unwell and Jullien suffering from a back injury.
