Celtic defender Cameron Carter-Vickers will be fit for the start of the club’s defence of the Premiership title. The USA Internationalist’s season was curtailed following an impressive display at Hampden in the Scottish Cup Final win over Rangers.

The victory, which set up a meeting with Inverness CT, allowed the defender to undergo surgery on his knee, which would allow him to return for pre-season. Thankfully, the surgery was a success and CCV will be fit for the start of the new season. According to US Media outlet SBI Soccer’s editor Larry Henry Jnr, Carter-Vickers will be ready to defend the title.

Carter-Vickers and Carl Starfelt have struck up a formidable partnership at the heart of the Celtic defence. Both players will be excited about the prospect of playing together in the UEFA Champions League having missed out on the chance last season due to respective injuries.

Carter-Vickers absence was felt in the defeats at Ibrox and Easter Road and Ange will be looking forward to having him back for the new campaign.
