CELTIC have confirmed a significant donation of £10,000 has been made to poppyscotland ahead of Remembrance Sunday. The Scottish Champions confirmed the donation to the organisation in a statement as the players will observe a minute silence at Fir Park today.

The club have always donated large numbers to the appeal, despite what some may tell you. The money has been made available by the club’s charitable arm, the Celtic Foundation and they will focus on education around the country, teaching children about the First World War (1914-1918).

The club will, along with the rest of the country, pause for silence and reflection relating to all of those that lost their lives during these conflicts over the years.

Later today, Neil Lennon’s side will face Motherwell as they look to close the gap between leaders Rangers. Steven Gerrard’s side are 9 points ahead before kick-off but Celtic do have two games in hand. There were calls for Rangers to be punished after two players broke the COVID-19 protocols. However, Rangers were actually praised for their action – a stark contrast to how Celtic and Aberdeen were treated by the Government.
