Celtic have made a £125k bid for St Mirren midfielder Dylan Reid, according to a report. The 17-year-old is subject to interest from down south but Ange Postecoglou and the Celtic scouting team believe that the player has the potential to excel with The Scottish Champions.
According to The Scottish Sun, talks are ongoing between the parties as St Mirren decide whether or not to cash in on the Scotland U19 Internationalist. Celtic have watched the player for a few months and whilst Stephen Robinson sees Reid as being a first team player for The Buddies, the cash may be too tempting as he looks to strengthen in the window.
The deal could pose an opportunity to Celtic to include loanees going in the separate direction. This would sweeten the deal whilst giving game time to fringe Celtic players, who still have a future at the club, the opportunity to play at a decent club under a good manager.
Celtic have already signed Jota, Cameron Carter-Vickers, Alexander Bernabei and Benjamin Siegrist. The manager has spoken about getting a couple more first team recruits in as he gears up towards the start of competitive action.
