The transfer window opens today. If we lose Oh, as seems likely, then we need to go all out for Miovski. And a point worth making is that Celtic should have three strikers in our squad…

It looks like we could be losing the services of Hyeongyu Oh very soon with Belgian side KRC Gent reportedly extremely keen on signing the South Korean international as soon as the transfer window opens and that’s today folks!

It looks like any transfer will be a permanent one, with the more sensible loan option not even a consideration. Celtic though will have add-ons including a sell-on clause in the deal for the Korean striker.

The fee is believed to be around £4.2 million which will net a decent profit on the £2.5 million the club paid for the forward back in January 2023 in what turned out to be the last transfer window under Ange Postecoglou.

Not a considerable sum, but still a profit of £1.7m with perhaps more to follow for our third choice striker these past four months. All that money and perhaps a little on top will without doubt will have to go towards a replacement for the South Korean.

With Adam Idah now back at Norwich it would leave Kyogo as the only experienced forward in our squad. So it’s imperative that we sign a striker to replace Oh if he does indeed move on.

Everyone’s preferred choice is Adam Idah and understandably so, but with his future at Norwich still to be decided we can’t wait around to find out and we really do need to have three strikers at the club.

The man for me is Bojan Miovski. The Aberdeen striker would cost somewhere in the region or £5-£6 million and that would represent great value as you know what you’re going to get with the North Macedonian internationalist.

He’s good in the air, with the ball at his feet and more importantly he can score goals. He also knows what our game is all about so it’s a no brainer.

If Oh does indeed leave then it’s time to act quickly to replace him, and who better than Miovski?

Having Kyogo, Miovski and Idah at the club next season is a problem every Celtic supporter would welcome.  Back in the 1980s we had McGarvey, McCluskey and Nicholas and under Martin O’Neill two decades ago we had Larsson, Sutton and Hartson.
