Celtic have submitted a £7m offer for Valentin Rosier from Sporting Lisbon. The 24-year-old is subject of interest from Marseille but journalist Ekrem Konur has said that Ange Postecoglou’s Celtic have made an offer as they look to sign a first choice right-back. Rosier is at the top end of Celtic’s market and he is a signing that would excite the support with powerful runs.

The Celtic Star suggested that Rosier could be a long-term solution to the full-back woes suffered last season with Sporting CP seemingly willing to sell. Celtic only have Anthony Ralston signed for next season with Lee O’Connor set to return from loan to play either at CB or RB as well.

Rosier is an attacking full-back who has spent the last year at Besiktas on loan from Sporting Lisbon. In that period, he assisted seven times and scored three over 37 appearances. He would certainly be at the upper end of Celtic’s wishlist with the player likely to attract bids in the region of £7m. It is unclear whether the bid has been accepted by Sporting but with a number of sides vying for his services, Celtic need to act quickly. Besiktas want to make the move permanent but the opportunity at Celtic could be one that Rosier may appreciate, especially given the success that some French stars have had at Paradise.
