Congratulations to Fran Alonso and his Celtic side who yesterday beat theRangers to win the Women’s Scottish Cup yesterday at Hampden, erasing some of the pain inflicted from last weekend’s cruel blow of losing the title in stoppage time.

This latest Celtic triumph means that the club have won something at every level this season from the men’s side, the B-team, the youths and of course the woman’s team, and even more satisfying than most as yesterday Hampden in the Sun triumph came at the expense of theRangers.

One image from yesterday’s woman’s final at Hampden summed up the class of both sides. Or lack of class should I say.

That was of course the Rangers woman’s skipper Kathryn Hill cowardly shoving Amy Gallagher in the back and knocking her to the ground. Such behaviour goes against the much-hyped ‘dignity’ that the club likes to associate itself with.

Her assistant manager Craig McPherson will have been proud of her. She even took her runners up medal off in disgust at the end as did quite a few of her ungracious teammates. You’d think like men’s captain James Tavernier she would be well versed in being a loser.

Glasgow Celtic, winners at every level. Long may it continue and you know what we’re not finished yet because on Saturday afternoon a huge Celtic support will fill Hampden looking to win the Scottish Cup and compete the treble, a record break eighth incidentally.
