After Thursday night’s shambolic performance, there was all manner of problems to comment on. Strangely, after slamming Elyounoussi for being on his phone, Chris Sutton decided to focus on Leigh Griffiths. In his role as a pundit for BT Sport, the former Celtic striker, said “Griffiths sums up that Celtic dressing room, he can’t be bothered to get himself fit.”

The Celtic front man apparently contacted Sutton after hearing his comments. It was probably nothing major, unlike what the mainstream media would have you believe. However, a conversation is alleged to have taken place. Sutton retweeted a Daily Record article reporting a “row” between the pair and reiterated his comments:

Griffiths, who scored on Thursday night, has barely featured this season. He came back from the close season overweight and later had a house party. Undoubtedly, this is far from ideal or professional. To that end, Sutton is quite right. However, he has also scored three crucial goals from the bench in recent times. He is Celtic’s best natural finisher and, in all honesty, is probably more effective at 50% fitness on desire alone, than some of the fully fit alternatives who don’t seem to have the drive to give it their all.
