We lost Tommy Burns ten years ago today. Tommy was perhaps the most loved Celtic player of all time – it would have been great if in the various awards over the years if that was included as a category, because Tommy would have won out of the park.

Purple TV have announced that they are making a documentary on Tommy’s life and this will be shown later in the year. Given how fantastic their film on Jimmy Johnstone was, this will be very special indeed.

A Special Mass will be celebrated in St Mary’s Church in the Calton, Glasgow, this evening, 15 May, at 7pm, on the 10th anniversary of Tommy Burns’ death.

All supporters are invited to attend what is sure to be a very special occasion, remembering a man who, during his life, made an extraordinary contribution to Celtic Football Club and was a hero to every supporter.

And the three tenets of his life – family, faith and football – will be remembered during the service. The Mass in St Mary’s Church, Abercromby Street, Glasgow, on Tuesday, 15 May, begins at 7pm.

Our very own Kevin Graham has written a heartfelt tribute to Tommy. Hankies are optional. Read it here.
