Forget starting Idah at Motherwell, wouldn’t Maeda be a better partner for Kyogo?…
Brendan Rodgers has changed his system slightly these last few games to adapt to two strikers. Adam Idah is the man who has been tasked with partnering Kyogo and, all in all, he’s done okay.
He scored the two vital spot kicks at Easter Road, but hasn’t scored yet from open play. To be fair to Idah he’s not what you would call an out-and-out striker, but he is good on and off the ball and always gives one hundred percent. You can’t fault him for that.
Maybe the answer to our striker dilemma is staring us right in the face, not Oh who I don’t believe is a favourite of Brendan Rodgers, but Daizen Maeda. Daizen’s natural position is centre forward, and he is also a workhorse. Wouldn’t it be more beneficial to play Daizen alongside his fellow countryman Kyogo?

They have a good understanding and it would only make sense to play them in a partnership. Daizen to me looks better when playing through the middle so why not accommodate his talents and let him do so?
It would also benefit Kyogo, and of course the team. It’s not a slight on Idah who would still have his part to play coming off the bench, he’s still an asset to us, but for me you need to be playing your strongest players, and in their best positions.
It’s Brendan’s call, but it’s clear for all to see that we need a change of shape.
