Celtic supporters have unveiled a commemorative banner for the victims of the 1971 Ibrox Disaster. The banner was put up outside Celtic Park ahead of the Glasgow Derby at Ibrox tomorrow that will mark 50 years since the tragedy that saw the loss of 66 lives.
In a classy display, the Celtic support have foregone rivalry to remember the victims and pray for them and their families.
Celtic and Rangers shared the points after a 1-1 draw at Ibrox in 1971. Following the game, a crush on Stairway 13 lead to 66 deaths. Legendary Celtic boss Jock Stein acted as a stretcher-bearer for the wounded while his Assistant Sean Fallon sought to help the injured.
