Celtic recorded a 2-0 win over St Johnstone yesterday to continue a fine run of form under Ange Postecoglou. The Celts controlled the game from start to finish and goals from Giorgos Giakoumakis and Josip Juranovic on either side of half time sealed all three points.
Ralston capitalised through a misjudgement by Booth to cross the ball into the path of the Greek striker, who finished well to give Celtic the breakthrough. Celtic made it 2-0 after Nick Walsh correctly spotted a foul on Kyogo, which gave Juranovic the chance to score from the penalty spot. The Croatian full-back showed great composure to send Clark the wrong way.
There was at least one flashpoint that Nick Walsh will probably wish that he had handled better. Chris Kane fouled Cameron Carter-Vickers to the turf before proceeding to kick the ball against him on the ground. He was then pushed and deliberately landed elbow first into the Celtic defender and struck him when both got up. Inexplicably, Walsh gave both a yellow card for the incident.
