Same Celtic side from the weekend should start against RB Leipzig

The same side as Saturday will most definitely start tonight and that’s my opinion not leaked information!

I don’t think Brendan Rodgers will spring any surprises tonight  in regard to his Celtic starting XI. After Saturday’s thumping of Aberdeen, I’d be shocked if Brendan were to make any changes, fitness matters permitting.

Granted RB Leipzig will pose an entirely different and more significant challenge to Aberdeen, but the way the players performed and the confidence they would have taken from Saturday’s victory should be enough to see the same starting XI take the field tonight.

Leaving Scales out was perhaps a surprise

Leaving Liam Scales out on Saturday was perhaps a surprise, but Auston Trusty looked comfortable and assured next to Cameron Carter-Vickers. We could very well be seeing the start of Brendan’s preferred centre back pairing. Brendan references Trusty having more pace than Scales and at this level that’s crucial.

The Barcelona Bhoy is starting to look the part

Alex Valle is also starting to look the part at left back and he looks so assured in these games for one so young, so that could be another hint of Brendan’s preferred choice at left back, especially with Greg Taylor still working his way back to match fitness after a few weeks on the sidelines.

The rest of the side really picks itself especially the attacking trio of Daizen Maeda, Kyogo and Nicolas Kuhn who all got on the scoresheet against the Dons.

Reo Hatate made sure of a starting place

Reo Hatate also made sure of a starting place with his performance. Which was crucial especially with the likes of Paulo Bernardo and Luke McCowan challenging him for a spot alongside Callum McGregor and Arne Engels (who was on media duties yesterday).

The team really picks itself and not surprisingly as we were simply outstanding against the Dons. Let’s hope we can reproduce the same performance against RB Leipzig tonight. That team leaker can take a night off, everyone already knows the team Brendan will select as it practically picks itself.

Celtic Team picks itself

As per Saturday this is how I expect Celtic to line-up against RB Leipzig…
