A few weeks ago, The Celtic Star reported on a video that was made about an abandoned stadium in Glasgow called Cathkin Park. The stadium is a historic venue within Scottish Football and for Celtic. It is also the ground upon which Jimmy Johnstone played his first ever match in Celtic colours, during a reserve team outing.

Since producing the video, a few people reached out to the uploader, to explain that Cathkin Park is not technically abandoned.

Yes, whilst the main parts of the stadium are no longer with us, the place still has ties to Celtic Football Club. The Jimmy Johnstone academy trains there and has an amazing, historic clubhouse on site.

In Glasgow, Celtic Park, Hampden Park and Ibrox still stand. However, the ghosts of the past can be felt in what was once a 50,000 capacity stadium: Cathkin Park.
