Arne Engels has stated that Celtic showed a reaction to losing 3-2 at Easter Road last Saturday afternoon, following our 5-1 demolition job on Aberdeen…

The Dons rocked up to Celtic Park on Tuesday night hoping to cause and upset and perhaps Jimmy Thelin might have smelt blood in the aftermath of our match against Hibernian at the weekend.
Celtic were utterly ruthless in front of the goal
However, despite not starting the game well in terms of our pressing game and overall performance, the Hoops still showed why we reign supreme over the rest of Scottish football, as we were utterly ruthless in front of the goal. It’s a trait that all good teams have and Celtic is no different in this respect, with the Bhoys cruising to a 3-0 lead at half-time despite not playing as fluid as the manager would have liked.
Engels spoke about this theme post-match, but insisted it’s the hallmark of a great team bouncing back so strongly after a defeat, even if the players were unhappy at certain aspects of the game during the first period. Speaking to Sky Sports Scotland, he said: “We are really happy, the team all did really good. You can see that we always bounce back after a defeat.

“The first half wasn’t our best and we needed to change it in the second half so we did really great. Everybody came into the dressing room at (HT) and were not happy because some things were not going our way like we wanted to. (In the second half) We started to look after the ball and we created a lot of chances.”

Arne Engels has now had several weeks and a few games to link up with our Superstar from Portugal, including that Champions League tie with Bayern Munich. When pressed on how much he is enjoying playing with his new teammate and Man of the Match Jota, he revealed: “Yeah, it’s really nice to always play with great players. He’s doing really well. He’s showing it everyday and every week. So yeah, really happy that he is here.”
