Brendan Rodgers is right to question VAR. but let’s not let it deflect from the fact we were so poor in the first half and Hibs probably deserved the victory…

Brendan Rodgers like most Celtic supporters was enraged by the decision to disallow what would’ve been a late ‘equaliser’ after Alistair Johnson’s cross was said to have happened after the ball was out of play before Daizen Maeda struck the ball into the Hibs net.
Alan Muir needs to explain his decision
The Celtic manager was understandably upset and gave his opinion on the matter in his post match interviews, the one with BBC Scotland is shown below. Brendan spoke for the rest of us when he questioned the overruling of the decision of the on field officials by VAR Alan Muir and wants to hear a full explanation on the matter.
“We don’t have the cameras to say that it’s factually out. If you don’t, you’re having a guess”

If they did Indeed go with the images we have all now seen, then we have every right to demand answers as it was inconclusive, therefore any decision would have been a matter of mere guesswork and certainly not based on anything factual. In the absence of any such evidence then Muir should have told the referee Steven McLean to go with his on-field decision.
This is the best angle I’ve seen. The picture of the yellow ball in the second tweet shows what is considered to be in-play – it only needs to be touching the line. To have a goal overturned by VAR on this basis is incredible. pic.twitter.com/DH0GFlw841

The better footage from the Hibs Vlogger that emerged today only serves to make matters worse for Muir whose position must be close to becoming untenable. Over the you Willie Collum.
My point was you can't conclusively say the ball was out without a birdseye view.
Explained with video & picture examples in below thread, camera from 18 yard line will make it look out, but it might not be.

Hibs deserved the three points
All that said however, we shouldn’t let it deflect from the fact that Celtic were poor on the day and Hibs were in my opinion the morning after the day before, deserving of the three points.

We can demand answers from the powers that be at the fraternity, but that doesn’t mean we have to use it as a deflection from our own on field failures at Easter Road. We can leave those sort of shenanigans to other clubs, the ones that desperately need to distract themselves and everyone else from their own failures.
