A Hibs vlogger has posted the best available footage of the controversial incident at Easter Road yesterday afternoon when the VAR Alan Muir overruled the on-field decision to disallow a Daizen Maeda goal that would have given Celtic an equaliser by making a ‘factual decision’ that the ball was out of play when Alistair Johnston crossed from the Hibs bye-line.

- Alan Muir just guessed
This new evidence, while not being 100% conclusive, doesn’t look good for Muir who as we now know based his decision on evidence from a camera on the 18 yard line. The Hibs vlogger footage from the byeline doesn’t give a conclusive answer so there is no chance that Alan Muir on VAR was able to make any sort of factual call to over-rule the on-field decisions of both the linesman and the referee.

The linesman incidentally was a few metres behind play and did NOT raise his flag, while the match referee Steven McLean initially awarded the goal.
Celtic must now ask for the audio to be released as a matter of urgency. Even with this latest footage it can’t be determined factually that the ball was out of play and as a result Alan Muir could not have overruled that on-field decision. That is as far as you can really say.
Have a look at this and judge for yourselves…
This is the best angle I’ve seen. The picture of the yellow ball in the second tweet shows what is considered to be in-play – it only needs to be touching the line. To have a goal overturned by VAR on this basis is incredible. pic.twitter.com/DH0GFlw841

This is what ensues when we get the paupers version of VAR …less cameras …. angle lines 50 yards off centre and the SMSM and clubs happy to go with a system of being not fit for purpose , every week ! Everybody knows we have the 50 bob version of VAR , yet nothing is said about the cheapskate digital camera work which would be thrown into the melting pot if it was implemented in england or Europe ..go figure .
Three photos there but does not show between no 1 and 2 when the ball is kicked. If it is no 1 the ball is in play if no 2 it’s out. I actually think it’s no 2 and the ball is out because if it was no 1 the second picture could not have happened. Just my thoughts. I think the correct decision was made and we should move on. We didn’t deserve a draw on the day. St Mirren did the business anyway.
