The Irish under 21 international was highly rated when he signed for the club in 2021 from Watford. It’s not really gone to plan for the big Irishman as his first team opportunity’s have been limited, but he’s starting to gain attention after some impressive displays with English league one side Fleetwood Town.

Bosun is of course on a season long loan deal at the English side and it’s hoped the experience will stand him in good stead when he arrives back in Glasgow this summer. He stayed on even when former Celtic captain Scott Brown was sacked as the Fleetwood manager and he is playing football at a higher level that if he remained with the Celtic B Team playing in the Lowland League.

He signed an extension to his current contract at Celtic before his temporary move down south, one that ties him to the club until 2026. That indicates that Celtic have high hopes for Lawal and he is certainly going to return as a more experienced defender.

The club clearly has plans for Bosun and that is very welcoming. We are lacking a bit of strength in the middle of our defence at this moment in time, and Bosun could be the answer to that going forward, perhaps from next season.

Indeed when you think about it we could perhaps do with him at the moment, but while that isn’t possible, it looks good going forward that we have such a talent in our ranks.
