Rocco close to Verona move, not what we want to hear, but it’s just the reality of things…

According to reports, Rocco Vata is near to signing a four year deal with Italian side Verona. That’s not news we want to hear, especially with a talented young player like Rocco.
Rocco made his first team debut under Ange Postecoglou last year and he didn’t look out of place. You could see why he is so highly rated. Unfortunately the club haven’t offered him a new deal, but the truth is that the club can’t guarantee him the first team football that he craves.
That’s the same position a lot of young talent find themselves in at the club. We play in an intense environment and it’s hard for youngsters to get regular first team football. That’s just the way it is, and the way it’s always been for youth players at this club.

Only really exceptional talent such as Aiden McGeady, James Forrest, Callum McGregor and Kieran Tierney will make the grade. If your good enough you will play regularly. Unfortunately for Rocco and a few others the club can’t guarantee that in the pressure pot that is playing for Celtic.
