Celtic thrashed Slovan Bratislava on a memorable European night at Paradise. The Scottish Champions were 5-1 winners in their UEFA Champions League opener thanks to goals from Liam Scales, Kyogo, Arne Engels, Daizen Maeda and Adam Idah.
Before the game, as the players exited the tunnel onto the pitch before they lined up for the anthem, Celtic goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel could be seen absolutely beaming as the fans reacted to the anthem.
LISTEN TO THAT ROAR 🔊
Celtic are READY for the big stage! 🍀

Despite UEFA’s tweak to the anthem, Celtic Park responded with a colossal roar that had some mascots putting their fingers in their ears. The noise was incredible and some of the Bratislava players looked rattled.
Schmeichel didn’t have much to do in the game but was left disappointed when a missed clearance by Greg Taylor allowed Kevin Wimmer to score a quite extraordinary goal. It was the only criticism from an otherwise incredible evening for Celtic.
Half of the Slovan team were in awe of the cheering …the referee and match officials were reacting like they had just been given the CL final gig . If TNT had sprung for a zip wire camera coverage around the ground ,the effects and sights would have been the best on the planet …any damned planet ! WOW………
