“PAOK are in talks with Celtic for Sead Hakšabanović. Greek club agreed terms with the player,” reports in the know Greek reporter Giannis Chorianopoulos…

Sead Hakšabanović is wanted by Greek side PAOK on a loan deal from Celtic before the closing of the summer transfer window. It comes amidst a cloud of uncertainty between both the player and management after an impromptu reaction on social media following the St Johnstone match last weekend.

Sead hasn’t exactly been what you would call a success in a Celtic jersey and does have a bit of a cheek complaining about not being played by Brendan Rodgers. He’s did very little since arriving at Celtic Park apart from a brief spell last November before the World Cup in Qatar. The player made a couple of substitute appearances from the bench and scored a couple of goals, but that’s been about it.

More had been expected from a player who was highly thought of in Sweden and Russia. However, it’s just not panned out that way and lately the player has displayed a bad attitude and his petulance may be the final straw for the Celtic boss who was probably already not that sold on the Montenegrin winger in all honesty.

Now Greek media outlet Sport24 report that Hearts’ Europa Conference League Play-off opponents PAOK Salonica fancy taking the player to the Super League. They state that the move would be an initial loan deal but with an obligation to buy for next summertime. The article in full states the following:

“PAOK is proceeding with the acquisition of the 24-year-old winger from Montenegro, Sead Haxabanovic. With Meite and Marcos Antonio, PAOK closed the positions in the center of the midfield and is now moving to strengthen its midfield. Sead Haxabanovic seems to be the chosen one with Dikefalos in advanced contact with Celtic for his acquisition. The 24-year-old winger with tenure in Djurgården, Norrköping and Rubin Kazan had previously troubled the people of PAOK and now it seems that his case has come back to the fore.

“The contract of the Swedish-born Haksabanovic expires in May 2027 and PAOK wants to bring him to Toumba. Reports of his acquisition status say he will go on loan, with the Two-Headed Man paying a mandatory option in the summer to buy out his contract. At Celtic, who acquired him in the summer of 2022, the 24-year-old winger has 5 goals and 4 assists in 42 games.”

It looks like he could be on the move after all before the shutting of the transfer window. If Sead does leave, there’s a man I’ve mentioned before that plays for Roma who we should definitely try and replace him with…
