TheRangers failings not only benefits Celtic financially, it gives us an advantage fixture wise…

TheRangers losing 5-1 by PSV last night in the Champions League playoffs was rather amusing for the Celtic supporters. In a week when we’ve been taking a fair amount of stick ourselves it’s was very welcoming indeed and also entertaining viewing.

Stuff the coefficient, theRangers getting hammered and brought down to size is more important. More importantly it gives Celtic a bigger share of the TV money, with our coffers filling up nicely with another £2million coming our way thanks to PSV winning the Play-off tie.

Another positive to come out of their miserable night in Holland is that they are now in the Europa league meaning their games are all on a Thursday, so their league fixtures that fall on the Saturday will now be moved to the Sunday.

That will give them added pressure giving the fact we will have played before them on at least six occasions. That’s of course if we win our games, but if we do it piles pressure on them to get results. Pressure, yes something they don’t deal well with.

It’s a blow for both the latest Ibrox club and the SPFL who like to give them the advantage of a favourable fixture list. Too many times last season we were given the disadvantage of kicking off after them. This season it’s their turn. It will be interesting to see how they handle it.

Just an Ordinary Bhoy
