CELTIC manager Brendan Rodgers has revealed that Tom Rogic will be out for the next six weeks with a knee injury. The Australian has been managing the injury since the start of the season.

“Unfortunately, he will be out for up to six weeks. He’s seen a knee specialist in London but we’ll be without him for a while,” Brendan said today at the club’s media conference.

Rogic returned from the Asian Cup after the Socceroos were shocked by tournament hosts UAE last Friday. Rogic was suspended for that 1-0 quarter final defeat having picked up a couple of booking in earlier games.

He headed home to Glasgow straight away and was expected to be available for the game at McDiarmid Park on Sunday.

Now though he joins the crock list that now includes Kieran Tierney, Filip Benkovic and Dedryck Boyata. Along with Tom Rogic these would all be regarded as first picks for Rodgers so it is an almighty blow on the back on the injuries to the three defenders.

Rogic’s last game for Celtic was in the 4-3 win at Aberdeen on Boxing Day.
