Celtic v Aberdeen: Highlights from Flag Day win, screamer from Jota

Celtic face Aberdeen this Saturday in the Cinch Premiership as the Scottish Champions look to continue their fine run of form. Ange Postecoglou’s side won the first game of the season against the Dons in the opening game of the season.

With over 600 passes registered against the visitors from the North East, it is fair to say that Celtic dominated but were not as clinical as the manager would have wanted his players to be. Goals from Stephen Welsh and a screamer from Jota.

The day began with an excellent tifo organised by The Green Brigade and funded by the Celtic support. The Ultras group outdid themselves and the stadium was an incredible spectacle. Captain Callum McGregor led the team out and unfurled the league flag.

It was a fast start befitting the special atmosphere as defender Stephen Welsh connected with a Matt O’Riley corner to spark the celebrations around the ground. Despite the control across the first half and second half, Celtic did not find a second until Jota pulled off a goal of the season contender.

The Portuguese winger took the ball on the left, he moved into the centre of the park before unleashing an outstanding effort to the goalkeeper’s right-hand side. It was unstoppable and the player loved it as much as the fans.
