Team’s Up – Callum McGregor starts for Scotland against Spain

Callum McGregor has been named in Steve Clarke’s Scotland starting XI for this evening’s game against Spain. The Celtic midfielder recorded his 50th cap on Saturday in the 3-0 win over Cyprus.

Angus Gunn starts in goals. In defence, Ryan Porteous and Grant Hanley are joined by Kieran Tierney. Aaron Hickey plays in the right wingback role with skipper Andy Robertson on the left. McGregor is joined by John McGinn and Scott McTominay in the middle with Ryan Christie playing off of Lyndon Dykes in attack.

Meanwhile, Spain have named a typically strong team for the game with a number of talented stars named in the Starting XI.

Kepa, Porro, Garcia, Martinez, Gaya, Rodri, Merino, Ceballos, Oyarzabal, Joselu, Pino.

Subs: Sanchez, Rayo, Nacho, Laporte, Morata, Ruiz, Gavi, Iglesias, Aspas, Williams, Carvajal, Zubimendi.

The game kicks off at 7:45pm and will be shown on Viaplay Sports. It will be a real test for Scotland but one that a Clarke team will relish. Hopefully, Calmac can continue to inspire in the middle of the park and return to Celtic duty with a victory (& unscathed!).
