Celtic are apparently watching Wolverhampton Wanderers winger Daniel Podence with a couple of weeks left to go in the transfer market. Its just the latest name in a massive list of wingers to be linked to the club in recent times. Brendan Rodgers is thought to be keen on acquiring another left-sided attacker with only Daizen Maeda and Yang Hyun-jun to pick from with Jota now in the Saudi Pro League.
However, with Yang being viewed as still one for the future and the recent injury to Oh Hyeon-gyu which will keep him out for six weeks, Japan international Maeda will be needed to fill in through the middle as a second striker to Kyogo Furuhashi. That means that there is ample opportunity for the Parkhead recruitment team to bring in another wide-man.
Daily Mail journalist, Tom Collomosse, has stated online via social media that the Bhoys are looking at the Portugal winger with a view to making a bid for the small forward in the coming weeks. It’s rumoured that Wolves want at least £12 million for the man with just one year left on his contract and that would be a hefty outlay.
Podence was left out of the Wolves squad by new boss Gary O’Neil last night for their opening Premier League fixture against Manchester United. They narrowly lost 1-0 and are looking to bring more faces in themselves, but will have to shift bodies first and foremost. Collomosse states that the Scottish Premiership Champions are among the club’s on his trail currently.
Here’s his update:
“With two weeks to go in the window, Wolves currently value Daniel Podence – not in the squad last night and left out of the pre-season stint in Portugal – at £12m. Celtic among the clubs following the situation.”

Portuguese winger Daniel Podence is being followed by Celtic as Wolves look set to part ways with the 27 year old.
The PL side currently value him at £12M but with him frozen out there's room for negotiation.
