Neil Lennon recently commented that Celtic need an enforcer in the middle of the park. Someone in the mould of Victor Wanyama.
The former Celtic manager is spot on, we are badly missing a physical presence in the middle of the park. Someone who will take charge and do the dirty work. Callum McGregor, Matt O’Riley and Reo Hatate are great players but don’t have that added aggression in their locker.
It was evident against Kilmarnock that we were a little lightweight in the middle of the park. Actually it’s been pretty obvious since Scott Brown called it a day. I’m not sure if Brendan is looking at this area, but he should. His former player at Leicester Wilfrid Ndidi is the type of player we should be looking at.
Ndidi is out of contract next year and should be affordable for us, although his salary could be a problem. Someone of that ilk would inject a lot into our side. it’s something we badly lack and need desperately if we want to keep our status as the best side in Scotland, and make inroads in Europe.
Just an Ordinary Bhoy
Been saying that for ages. And preferably one with a nasty streak. We’re too soft.
Perhaps you’re smoking something,he’s valued at about £25m.
If we are to move to the next level in Europe we should be looking at this level of player…
Didi, Zapata, Veerman & Tierney..
Now whilst we can only dream of spending £40m on quality players like these, in reality we MUST have such funds available due to player sales and CL money….oh yeah and we also have two billionaire owners…
