Team’s Up – Starts for Yang, Scales and Johnston

Brendan Rodgers has named his team for this afternoon’s game against St Johnstone. The Scottish Champions are back on Premiership duty after the League Cup exit at Rugby Park.

Alistair Johnston, Yang and Liam Scales all start and will be keen to make an impact with the latter two likely conscious of Brendan’s comment re bringing quality in.

In goals, Joe Hart starts. The Englishman will be wanting to register a clean sheet having conceded in the first three games this season.

In defence, Liam Scales and Gustaf Lagerbielke start in the central pairing. Greg Taylor starts at left back with the right back berth occupied by the returning Alistair Johnston.

In midfield, Callum McGregor starts at the base of the middle three with David Turnbull and Matt O’Riley

In attack, Yang starts with Daizen Maeda on the flanks with Kyogo through the middle.

On the bench: Bain, Haksabanovic, Abada, Holm, Kwon, Tomoki, Bernabei, Forrest & Ralston

The manager will be keen to get his side clicking into gear ahead of next weekend’s trip to Ibrox. The visitors from Perth will be buoyed by the chances that Ross County had in the opening game of the season and also Killie’s result so it is important that we start quickly and dispel any doubts from last week.

Cmon Celtic.
