The Celtic support have been reacting to the announcement made by the Scottish FA that the duo who robbed the Hoops of a penalty in the dying embers at Rugby Park, have been rewarded for their efforts with a Glasgow Derby match this coming Sunday lunchtime.
Both Alan Muir and Don Robertson were on duty when they saw fit to deny Brendan Rodgers’ side a penalty after Sead Hakšabanović was clearly fouled inside the box.
Muir was the referee that day in the League Cup on the field of play and Robertson was the official operating VAR watching from a distance on the TV screens. Neither men thought the Celtic player was fouled and Sead never received a booking for diving either, so it was a ridiculous decision on the part of the officials to not give Celtic a penalty that day in Ayrshire.
It’s not the first time something like this has happened with Muir who famously denied Celtic a penalty during Ronny Deila’s Parkhead reign, when Josh Meekings clearly stopped the ball with his hand from a certain Leigh Griffiths headed goal. The photographic evidence show without question that Muir saw the full incident yet he declined to show for a spot-kick to the referee that day in a dubious display.
The Celtic support have been reacting to that decision by the Scottish football authority to award both Muir and Robertson for their efforts with a Glasgow Derby match to preside over. It really does leave one gobsmacked and it is a dead certainty that something dodgy will happen this coming weekend at Ibrox against Celtic. Take a look at some of the reaction:
Expected. They can’t let their chance to go top slip away due to any kind of fair contest

Is that a roll call for a lodge meeting or a list of neutral officials?

Disgusting.

They aren’t even hiding it now.

Remember – this team of Robertson/Muir made two, possibly three, huge errors in the recent Kilmarnock v Celtic gamehttps://t.co/aqi5O1MC56
Yet, they are “rewarded” with the most high profile match of the season

However, the two men in black will get to switch up roles for this one and get the chance to influence the game, predictably against Celtic, in different ways. Robertson is the man with the whistle and this time Muir is main VAR operator.
What could possibly go wrong?

You reap what u sow this is purely down to the gutless Celtic board completely ignoring VAR for the whole summer break. Not 1 word from them in the absolutely shocking deceisons against Celtic last year and the even worse ones given in favour of the new team playing at ibrox in order to make the league look like a two horse race. VAR was introduced to help the new club stay in Celtics tails because they haven’t the funds to do it legally now they are in UEFAs watch list.shame on our board .
