Luis Palma Update – Celtic medical done according to sources in Greece

Luis Palma has completed his Celtic medical this evening according to sources in Greece. The current Aris Thessaloniki winger has been selected by the Scottish Champions as the replacement for transferred star Jota, who left the club for the Saudi Pro League with Al-Ittihad in a record-breaking £27million transfer deal.

Celtic supporters have had to bide their time in the search to replace our former ‘Superstar from Portugal’ so it won’t be before time if we get this one over the line soon. There has been angst amongst the fanbase for our less than inspiring start to the domestic campaign, having crashed out of the League Cup and dropped points at home to St Johnstone.

Things have sparked into life somewhat today though, with the club pursuing loan deals for Liverpool defender Nat Phillips and Paulo Bernardo of Benfica. Both players will be welcome additions and could be that sprinkling of quality we have missed badly from the starting XI to this point. More will be required too before the deadline but it’s a promising start as we head into the last couple of days of the transfer window.

Now the news of Palma competing his medical this evening is music to the ears of the Celtic fanbase. Giannis Chorianopoulos – who has been giving the support the inside scoop on the Palma deal to Celtic Park – updated everyone tonight online via social media. He gave this update:

“Medical done for Luis Palma ahead of his transfer to Celtic from Aris Thessaloniki. Palma is in Glasgow”

It’s getting closer!

I'm a Garngad Bhoy through and through. My first ever Celtic game was a friendly against Italian side Parma at Celtic Park, in 2002. Currently a student of English Literature and Education at the University of Strathclyde for my sins. Favourite game would be a toss up between beating Manchester United with that Naka freekick, or the game against the Oldco when Hesselink scored in the dying seconds. I'm still convinced Cal Mac is wasted playing that far back.
