Playing a blinder, England at Auchenhowie gets the Bears back onside

So theRangers yesterday caused a bit of a stir by letting the England international side train at their Auchenhowie training centre.

The Ibrox club was formed in 2012 by an Englishman by the name of Charles Green, has let out their facilities to Gareth Southgate’s side as they prepare to face Scotland at Hampden on Tuesday night.

There’s been some bemusement towards the Ibrox club’s decision to do so, but ultimately why care? I certainly don’t. As Celtic supporters we shouldn’t be surprised as both Ibrox clubs have a history of letting opponents of Celtic train at their base.

The whole thing is a very clever ploy by the Ibrox hierarchy to keep deflecting from their current woes. You know the fact that they have exited the Champions League in humiliating circumstances (5-1) costing them a multi million pound bounty. Or the fact they couldn’t beat an under strength Celtic at home and have as things stand lost 50% of their Scottish Premiership matches.

Or the fact the Bears are piling the pressure on them to remove Mick Beale, a man they let spend over £10 million in transfer fees, but failed miserably to qualify for the Champions League and currently sit mid-table in the Scottish Premiership table.

You would have thought that with so few of their players away on international duty, this international break would have provided Beale with an excellent opportunity to work with his squad to improve their performances but instead they have time off so that England can train at Murray Park.

Yes they’ve played a blinder and you’ve got to admire it. Let’s get Harry Kane, Jude Bellingham and co to train at Auchenhowie. The King’s XI training at the home of the glorious Glasgow Rangers (sic) as they prepare to face the Jacobites. They might even have their Culloden flag on display to make the English feel right at home!

The deluded Bears have predictably lapped it all up and everything is rosy again. Which is fine by me. If it gives Mick Beale more time, all the better as I’m really enjoying his time as theRangers manager as I am sure you all are too!
