Rangers have agreed to sign Wolves striker Fabio Silva on a loan deal until the end of the season. Italian transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has confirmed the deal and stated that the deal is a straight loan with no option to buy the forward that has had five clubs in four years. However, there has been murmurs that the player had chosen Rangers over Celtic.

Unfortunately for Rangers supporters, who gleefully celebrate this rumour, Celtic were offered the player but decided against signing him, rather deciding to pursue signing players themselves as opposed to developing Wolves’ talent.
It’s DONE.
Rangers beat Celtic to the signing of Wolves record signing Fabio Silva on loan.
Celtic also wanted the player but Silva decided on Rangers finally earlier this week.

Fabio Silva is set to agree a loan move to Rangers from Wolves.
Positive conversations with Philippe Clement and the lure of European football were key in making the deal happen. Celtic were also interested in the Portuguese striker.https://t.co/flH85GnoIp

Sources at Celtic have stated that the player was offered to Brendan Rodgers’ side but this was not an attractive proposal to the club. The 21-year-old was unremarkable when he faced up against Celtic in Dublin in August. In 72 appearances for Wolves, Silva has 5 goals and 6 assists. Instead, Celtic will focus on signing their own players this summer.
Rather than celebrating a new signing by their club ahead of the window opening, Rangers media outlets feel it necessary to score some points over Celtic. Probably owing to the debacle in the summer when they were interested in signing Luis Palma and the Honduran instead preferred a move to the Scottish Champions.
