There was not a failure amongst our side in last night’s 6-0 thumping of Aberdeen in the Premier Sports Cup semi final at Hampden.  And Daizen Maeda will naturally take the plaudits after scoring a hat trick as well as registering an assist, but one man who stood out for me was Nicolas Kuhn.

The German registered a goal and an assist in an exhilarating performance. Kuhn has all the attributes to go to the very top. He has pace, strength, skill and he works so hard off the ball. He knows the way to goal and his vision for that killer pass is top notch, we are very lucky to have him.

His stats this season are exceptional. In 15 games he has scored 7 goals and registered 10 assists. Thats quite the turnaround for a player who was written off by many after just arriving  at the end of the January transfer window.

He admittedly didn’t have the best of starts, but some players just need time to bed in, and that’s been the case with Nicolas, who had lost weight and strength after some dental issues.

Nicolas was highly regarded at the beginning of his career and perhaps didn’t live up to the expectations expected of him, but under Brendan he looks to have rediscovered that form and that will only benefit him and the team in the long term.

RB Leipzig are one of his old teams and Nicolas Kuhn will be determined to put on a show against them on Tuesday night in the Champions League. With him down one side and Daizen going at them down the other channel that they’ll certainly have their hands full.

It’s going to be some night and Nicolas Kuhn might just be the main to light up Paradise.

An ordinary everyday Celtic supporters hailing and still residing in Govan in the shadows of the enemy. I’m a season ticket holder. I Witnessed my first Celtic game in 1988 and have attended when I can ever since. Growing up in the 90s I witnessed Celtic at their lowest, and now appreciate the historic success we enjoy today. I enjoy writing about this wonderful football club and hopefully will continue to do so. I’ve always been a keen writer and initially started this a hobby. My ambition is to one day become as good an author as my fellow Celtic Star colleagues.
