CELTIC LEGEND Scott Brown has signed a new two year contract extension and will remain as The Celtic skipper until 2021.
Broony, now 33, joined Celtic from Hibs in 2007 and has made 506 appearances for the club, scoring 37 goals.He has won eight league titles, five League Cups and four Scottish Cups, and has captained the club to a historic Double Treble under Brendan Rodgers.
“I’m absolutely delighted to have signed this new contract extension,” the captain told the official website today.
“Celtic has been such an important part of my life for a long time now, since I joined the club back in 2007, and this really is home for me.
“My focus, as always, will be on doing everything I can to deliver more success to this club in the months and year ahead, and in particular for our wonderful fans, who have given me amazing support from the moment I first pulled on the Hoops.”
Broony had an opportunity to take his family to Australia to sign for Melbourne on a three year deal but his heart has always been at Celtic and the chance to lead the club to Ten in a Row was always going to be a significant factor in his decision making process.
