Celtic’s transfer business is beginning to hot up as we get ready for the the summer window to officially open…

Traditionally Celtic are rather lackadaisical when it comes to the recruitment of players much to the frustration of the supporters, so this summer it’s very much hoped that we can start the ball rolling ASAP.
I know it sounds like a case of Deja vu but it’s imperative that we get new faces in as early as possible in preparation for the new campaign.

So to our surprise we woke up to the news this morning that Celtic have made interest known for THREE targets with talks reportedly underway with some of the players clubs and representatives.

With the news that Fulham striker Callum Osmand is on the verge of signing, it was reported that Celtic are also hot on the heels of long term targets Michel-Ange Balikwisha and Sondre Orjasaeter and a new name in Anderlecht’s Ecuadorian Nilson Angulo also been named with a first bid having been rejected.

All the mentioned names are players of the wide attacking variety so it’s plain to see that’s an area of the side that Brendan wants strengthened. Let’s hope it’s the start of a influx of new arrivals in time for pre season preparations.

Could early moves signal a big money exit is in the offing?
If we are looking at multiple wide players it could also of course signal a big money departure from the likes of Nicolas Kuhn as per the Celtic business model. Provided the price it right then the club will always look to sell on players who were brought to the club on that understanding, thus allowing the cycle to continue.

The summer transfer window opens on Monday next week – 16 June – so hopefully that will be a busy day for Celtic. It would certainly be preferable to all the action taking place on the last day of the window.
