Whatever you make of the trajectory of Kyogo’s career over the last six months, few Celtic fans can doubt his contribution to the club during his time in Glasgow.
The Japanese star was even described by some as ‘the best since Larsson’.
Things didn’t work out at Rennes for the striker, but he now has a chance to rejuvenate himself with Championship newcomers Birmingham City, and potentially reach the English Premier League before his contract is up.
The Blues’ chances of promotion will be greatly increased if their latest acquisition can find his old form, which saw him score goals at all levels from Scottish Premiership to Europa League and Champions League.
Birmingham have teased fans with a compilation of Kyogo’s best goals in a Celtic shirt. Each of the chosen strikes come from domestic matches, including a left footed stunner in the Glasgow Derby.
