Journalist offers update on Adam Idah’s Celtic future

Celtic are not interested in selling Adam Idah despite links to Udinese. The Scottish Champions are in the market for attacking options and will not be eager to let the Irish striker leave.

A report had claimed that the Serie A side were keen on Idah but journalist Mark Hendry has clarified Celtic’s position on the matter.

Celtic require to assist Idah rather than selling the player. Brendan has spoken about requiring reinforcements to supplement his frontline as he plans to utilise the £9m striker as his frontman this season. Celtic added Callum Osmand and Shin Yamada this summer but it remains to be seen how both fit into the manager’s plans.

The main focus of Celtic’s transfer business will likely be wingers to replace Nicolas Kühn and provide cover for the injured Jota. Celtic have been linked with a number of players but thus far, they have not secured any signings in this position. Hopefully there will be clarity in the coming days as Celtic supporters target a recruitment drive before the Champions League Playoffs. The draw takes place on Monday and that may have an impact on where and when Celtic conduct their transfer business.

  1. If anyone is stupid enough to give us close to 9million for him we should be all over that. See if we can break even on Engles as well and move past this embarrassing point in our clubs history.
Can’t see anyone stupid enough to pay 5 million for either of them though.

  2. I’ve said on a previous article about Idah, that he’s currently the least appreciated player that’s contributed big goals. Adam Idah won Celtic, the Scottish Cup! And we all danced with joy that day!

They say he’s not developing. Because the fans take to him. Never has a player contributed so much and been overshadowed. First by Kyogo and then by the media frenzy when Jota resigned for Celtic. Idah’s scored two goals and they are asking him about Jota! And then Maeda goes in the goal scoring run of his career! So he’s playing with his head down. Because the fans say he’ll never be good enough.

And it’s because he’s not appreciated. That’s the God’s honest truth, I would get out of Celtic if was Idah. He can excel elsewhere. That Italian club would be an outstanding move.

  3. The board delayed signing Idah. And the price went up by £4 million pounds. The board are clowns. We sold Matt O’Riley. And they didn’t part with the cash. So Idah arrived on an inflated fee. Don’t hold it against him. Hold it against the board.
