Celtic today can build a four point lead at Pittodrie to take to Ibrox

The latest Ibrox outfit quite frankly are a poor and inconsistent lot. Indeed the Celtic board have a great chance to leave them trailing simply by backing our own manager. And today Brendan Rodgers can build an early season four point lead over theRangers ahead of our trip to Ibrox at the end of August….

As all thoughts turn to Pittodrie this afternoon, and yesterday we had a little pick me up from our recent woes concerning the lack of transfer activity when theRangers dropped yet more points in a game they were expected to win convincingly.

According to those who watched events from Ibrox, the Govan Galacticos were fortunate to earn a point against Dundee after a last gasp James Tavernier spot kick spared some of the blushes of the Ibrox side and supporters.

Dundee tipped by many for relegation dictated most of the play at the home of the Scottish Premiership runners up, and left Glasgow feeling disappointed at only earning a point, which kind of tells its own story.

For the second week in succession Russell Martins’s men failed to win against a side who finished in the bottom six last season, and more concerningly for those of an Ibrox persuasion they looked second best on both occasions.

Celtic now has the chance to go four points clear this afternoon which will give us a psychological edge in the pursuit of the title even at this early stage of the new season.

It’s also the perfect opportunity for our board to leave our city rivals trailing by giving Brendan what he wants in the transfer market. Or maybe that’s just wishful thinking on my part?

Yesterday was a good day for Celtic now it’s over to the Bhoys to make it a perfect opportunity up at Pittodrie and in doing so extract a little bit of payback for the Scottish Cup final defeat to Jimmy Thelin’s side.

I Witnessed my first Celtic game in 1988 and have attended when I can ever since. Growing up in the 90s I witnessed Celtic at their lowest, and now appreciate the historic success we enjoy today. I enjoy writing about this wonderful football club and hopefully will continue to do so. I’ve always been a keen writer and initially started this a hobby. My ambition is to one day become as good an author as my fellow Celtic Star colleagues.

  1. Watching them again last night, told us nothing we already knew.
They have set up the team, as a mirror image of ourselves, without the same quality of players.
Not 1 of there players is a better option than what we have in place at present, so already would question are they going to be our main rivals in this title race this season?

  2. We’ve got a crucial Champions League qualifier double header, another league game and a League Cup tie before we go to Ibrox.

I wish Celtic fans would stop fixating on them; we’ve far bigger fish to fry.
