In the cold light of day, Celtic’s Ibrox result was favourable…

It might just be my advancing years, but I’m quite laid back when it comes to the football nowadays, and unlike a lot of supporters yesterday’s result although a little tainted through yet another lacklustre performance, didn’t upset me, and all things said and done I’m quite content with a point, yes very happy indeed.

Some are looking at it from a perspective of how poor theRangers have been after dropping points to Motherwell, St Mirren, and Dundee, and of course the thumping they received from Brugge in midweek, but this game was a completely different story in more ways than one.

This was a Glasgow Derby on home turf for the Ibrox side, they were under pressure to not only get a result, but to also perform, not to mention that they always raise their game when a green and white shirt is put in front of them, so it was always going to be a difficult afternoon from our point of view.

Even more so after a gruelling midweek jaunt to outer Kazakhstan, which saw  us dumped out of the Champions League leaving our minds as well as our bodies feeling the full brutal effects.

So to go to the home of our rivals who are desperate for a result, and come away with a clean sheet and a point, a hard earned point that also happens to keep us top of the table and six points clear of our city rivals has to be seen as a positive, don’t you agree?

An ordinary everyday Celtic supporters hailing and still residing in Govan in the shadows of the enemy. I’m a season ticket holder. I Witnessed my first Celtic game in 1988 and have attended when I can ever since. Growing up in the 90s I witnessed Celtic at their lowest, and now appreciate the historic success we enjoy today. I enjoy writing about this wonderful football club and hopefully will continue to do so. I’ve always been a keen writer and initially started this a hobby. My ambition is to one day become as good an author as my fellow Celtic Star colleagues.

You really shouldn’t be using crack this early in the morning, in general a point away at the bigotdome should be decent BUT we just failed to score against a team that lost 6-0 going on 20 just a few days ago, taking a positive from that game with only two shots on target it’s either crack or you’re related to a board member, I’m ST holder who won’t be buying europa package or using my ST, I’m not making a 20 hours round trip and spending £200 to watch paint drying

  2. Favourable? No!
Without being disrespectful, the honest truth is that it was plain to see that this Govan team was flat out at their best, without ever laying a glove on us! Yet we didn’t even get out of second gear! We only managed a couple of shots on target ourselves! That’s the honest reality! Not getting three points from them with a very comfortable win shows just how poorly we played! This is probably the worst Govan team I ever remember.

  3. Gordon Raeburn on

Are you just an ordinary hun. How can you be content watching that utter dross against probably the worst huns side in their 12 years as a club. We are rotten to watch and have been since Munich. Rodgers hss no plan B so there is much more of this to come.

  4. JaOB – on one hand I can agree with your points about a draw being a decent result at ipox – IF compared with the run of recent poor results we’ve gotten against the same side.

However – given how rank rotten The Rangers have been recently, how well other SPFL clubs have taken the game to them in their own ground, and how much we’ve been waiting on a “kick up the backside” performance from our own team, I still see that as being abject failure from us to get as easy a 3 points at the away fixture as you’ll have seen in the past 13 year history.

Seriously – if we’d had a bit more balls and a bit more positivity we could have scored a couple of goals. No ifs buts or maybes – Rodgers set that team up to be conservative. What were the instructions to Balikwisha (who I still don’t know what to think of) – “pass it back”?

Uninspiring dross and apart from the 1 point gained – it doesn’t spice up the appetite for the next few games exactly does it?

  5. Favourable ,,,jeezo how far the standards have fallen ,,,,,happlyclapping at it’s best ,,Favourable ffs

  6. The problem is the people in charge are more than happy to remain around the same level as one of the worst Huns sides in living memory. Devoid of ambition, devoid of direction, they don’t deserve a manager of the quality of The Brodge. When he decides enough is enough no doubt the next move will be to appoint Kennedy to continue the slide into mediocrity.
