Former Celtic striker makes history with stunning Bundesliga hat-trick

Former Celtic attacker Oliver Burke made history earlier today by becoming the first Scottish player to score a hat-trick in the Bundesliga. The Union Berlin frontman helped his side beat Eintracht Frankfurt 4-3 away from home.

Burke, who enjoyed a loan spell at Celtic in the second half of the 2018/19 season, has played for a number of clubs in Germany and has carved out a good career for himself.

It is an impressive display from Burke and certainly something that should flag up for Scotland manager Steve Clarke. Clarke called Burke up for his first camp after the player was on loan at Celtic, a move which paid off with Burke netting his first and only Scottish goal with a winner against Cyprus. The 28-year-old has just 13 caps to his name but if he continues this form, he is a must for the October Scotland camp.

In 19 appearances for Celtic, Burke scored 4 goals and assisted on 3 occasions as Celtic completed the Treble Treble. The Scotland Internationalist collected a Premiership winners medal and a Scottish Cup winners medal.
