Ex-Rangers keeper Kelly to join Celtic Heroes? Bayo stars for New Balance

NEW BALANCE released this teaser ahead of today’s kit launch for next season, incidentally it is nice to see Bayo featuring in this.

The Scottish Sun are claiming that Celtic are interested in Livingston keeper Liam Kelly, who has had two shut-outs against the Hoops this season. Kelly is apparently available for £50,000 and is attracting interest from Hamburg. The paper also suggests that Kelly – a former Rangers goalkeeper – might not fancy being the back-up keeper to Scott Bain at Celtic.

He should remember that Bain came into Celtic – on the recommendation of Stevie Woods incidentally – as a back-up to Craig Gordon. He believed in his own ability and got his reward. Kelly is certainly a very good goalie and would be a great signing for just £50k.

Some credit Rodgers with the signing decision to bring Scott Bain to the club but it was actually the goalkeeping coach who made the call saying he’s like to work with Bain or Carson from Motherwell. The Fir Park side refused to sell him to the Hoops and Bain arrived from Dundee, although he had been on loan at Hibs working with Neil Lennon for a few weeks before that.

Bain made his debut in unexpected circumstances at Ibrox on what turned out to be the first of many Beautiful Sundays…
