Rangers will receive their full allocation ahead of the post-split Glasgow Derby at Celtic Park. The fallout from the weekend’s Scottish Cup Quarter Final has rumbled on with a number of pundits stating that the away allocation should get cut.
After Celtic secured the win at Ibrox, there were ugly scenes as Rangers fans entered the pitch, attacked members of the Celtic squad, Police and stewards before attempting to confront Celtic supporters in the Free Broomloan.
According to the Daily Record’s Keith Jackson, who is closely placed with the Ibrox club, there have been talks with the league and the Police with no issues regarding the current plan.
“As things stand, I am led to believe anyway, there has been no attempt to alter the agreement which is already in place for this season for away allocations. As things stand, Rangers will get the same allocation that they had previously which is around 2500 in that corner at the away end at Celtic Park.
“Let me tell you something, the police better up their game.
“Whether it is inside the stadium, around the stadium, during the the match – they have to be far more visible and mindful than they were at the weekend.“
It remains to be seen whether Celtic will speak out about the disorder, their silence has been criticised by the Police. However; the Police could have easily managed the situation by putting a cordon in place to stop encroachment from the stands.
The Police have attributed the blame to supporters while citing that one group were celebrating while the others were there to confront and fight. The fallout will continue with further speculation about whether Celtic will allow Rangers supporters into Celtic Park, especially given the behaviour from the Ibrox support in the last game.
It is expected that the Green Brigade will be absent at Celtic Park for the remainder of the season after reports that their meeting with the club did not go to plan. From a sporting point of view, why would the club want to allow the Rangers ultras into the ground while Celtic have their own locked out.
Board being vindictive regarding the green brigade. Robert Kelly and Fergus McCann stood up to the sfa and won. These charlatans board members are gutless, spineless, money grabbing parasite.hh
How stupid is that cunt Nicholson. We can all see what’s going to happen with that Hun mob bar him and his cronies.
Not enough rainbow flags at an old firm for the female chief of police to police the game accordingly. We all know why it was a disaster. The SNP couldn’t run a fucking bath. Everything in the public sector is a shambles.
As for the Green Brigade and the Union Bears.
You’ve destroyed the chance of restoring the full allocation. Your thuggery was unseen since 1999. They feel emboldened. It’s a new generation of imbeciles ruining it for everyone.
Whit the fuck has the SNP got to do with it? The post is about football, was the Tories to blame for all the thuggery in the 80’s & 90’s in England? I agree with you that these limits like Ultras should be banned, the Green Bridge just need a few tweaks, like getting rid of Fireworks, and when UEFA say no to certain displays at certain games, then just don’t do it, because it’s our club that gets fined and chances of bans etc, leave your displays till league games and maybe the ban will get lifted and no more fines.
Keep the communists banned. They broke into Ibrox with the Palestinian flag. Terrorist sympathisers. We don’t want em at Celtic Park and your Hamas flags.
Get a grip, and while you’re at it an education. Terrorists and communists, I don’t think Israel is communist, but they certainly do terror, they love slaughtering a kid or two, and love even more boasting about it. Knob!
