Celtic are reportedly targeting Ferencvaros boss Robbie Keane as the club’s next manager. The Irishman is believed to be highly rated by the Celtic hierarchy, who are planning to make a number of changes in the footballing department this summer.
According to The Guardian, the former Celtic loanee Keane is believed to be highly regarded by Celtic but there is believed to be interest from Tottenham Hotspur. Celtic are also believed to be considering Wales boss Craig Bellamy, another Celtic loanee, and Motherwell manager Jens Berthel Askou.
There are concerns about Askou given that he has only had one season in Scottish football but, it is fair to say, that he has impressed in a short time at Fir Park.
Any appointment of Keane would likely draw criticism stemming from the ex-Spurs forward taking over at Maccabi Tel Aviv before his move to Hungary. This would likely start him off on the wrong foot with a number of fans.

Celtic had to bring O’Neill out of retirement to replace Brendan Rodgers, who left the club after a stalemate with the Celtic Board culminated in the Irishman’s resignation. After a successful interim period with Shaun Maloney and Mark Fotheringham, Celtic recruited Wilfried Nancy, who they enthusiastically backed in their announcement of the Frenchman.
Nancy was dismissed after the Glasgow Derby defeat to Rangers at Celtic Park in which the chaotic brand of football was punished by yet another team, resulting in four defeats in six league games. This led to Celtic getting O’Neill and Fozzy back to the club and emptying Nancy, his back room staff and Paul Tisdale with the club promising change.
The names linked are fairly unimaginative and it remains to be seen who is deciding on the next manager given that there is due to be change at executive level at the club.

The Hamas terrorist sympathisers. Known as just stop oil. Pronouns they/them. And the Queers for Palestine. Glasgow University anti Semites. The Jew haters who chased Abada from Parkhead. Because they follow their communist moral superiority code. They’ve broken into Celtic Park since the ban. Probably tunnelling their way in like the murderous Hamas killers of October 7th. And not one of them will have their money invested wisely. Which is why they’ll always be cancel culture victims.
I hope they are enjoying being cancelled themselves and keep the ban.
Give Martin Saves O’Neill the job next season the Pope’s 11.
Amen
I forgot to say. The green brigade. The unholy alliance of Islam, communism and woke liberal cancel culture arseholes.
Keep the ban on the unholy alliance. We don’t want their kind at Celtic Park.
And give the job to Martin O’Neill next season
What a lovely person you are, in no way like those people you denigrate, now away and crawl into your disgusting hole.
Jim…..there’s room in the Celtic family for a divergence of opinions on these issues. No fan should be that dogmatically obsessed they are shutting down other supporters views. Not all Celtic fans subscribe to the pro Hamas pro Palestinian state anti Israel rant as it stands without a long very hard look at the root causes of that conflict and the devil is within the hard harsh real politick details.
Just a thought……
You mean he’s Irish, that’s all Desmond needs, pls ,pls, say this is fake news. Guy who goes from a fascist country and team, straight to another fascist state, and has done nothing of note!.
Robbie Keane will never have my support, he can f#ck off
